Highway 5A를 따라 Merritt의 북쪽으로는 Nicola, Douglas Lake 그리고 Quilchena Ranch등 많은 대농장들이 과거와 현재를 연결해 주고 있다. 특히 Nicola Ranch는 한때 The Town of Nicola의 유적지 건물들을 보수 단장하였는 데 그중 1876년에 건축한 Murray Church는 여전히 논란의 여지가 있지만-사진상으로- BC주에서 가장 오래된 교회로 기록되어 있다.
